Nora Fiffer has made a career of engaging audiences through her work as a writer, director, producer, and actor in theatre and cinema. Firelight Theatre Workshop, which she co-founded in Peterborough NH in 2017 and for which she continues to serve as co-artistic director, is known for immersive productions in which the audience is often amid the action. The staging quite literally makes room for the audience.
Fiffer’s debut feature film, “Another Happy Day,” starring Lauren Lapkus and featuring Carrie Coon, premiered at Vail Film Festival in 2023 and was an official selection of the Santa Barbara International and Beverly Hills Film Festivals. The film screened in select cities and was rleased in the fall of 2024 on Apple TV and Prime Video.
In her talk, Fiffer will share her process of creating work for stage or screen as well as how to consider, welcome, and trust an audience.

Childcare Available: The Lyceum is partnering with PUUC to provide free childcare for two speakers this season. On July 27th and August 13th, 2025, childcare and art activities will be provided in the UU Nest by adult volunteers who have completed background checks, in compliance with PUUC's Safe Child policy. The play rooms - located in The UU Nest - are accessible through the northwest (back left) exit of the sanctuary, down the stairs and to the right. Children are welcome to arrive from 10am so that they have time to settle in before caregivers enjoy the pre-speaker music. Pick-up is following the closure of the post-speaker reception. We hope your little ones will enjoy a playful morning while you are engaged, inspired, and informed!
